Questions

Which muscles do parallel bar shrugs work?

The movement primarily targets the trapezius, levator scapulae, and rhomboids. The forearms, shoulders, and core muscles also work isometrically to maintain stability.

Is this exercise safe for the lower back?

Yes, it creates zero axial spinal compression because your body is suspended. If you feel any sharp shoulder or neck pain, stop immediately and consult a qualified specialist.
