How to do it

  1. Stand on the bottom of the loop band with both feet, hip-width apart, and grip the top of the band with both hands in front of your thighs.
  2. Keep your back straight, chest up, and knees slightly bent.
  3. Inhale and hinge at your hips, pushing your glutes back and lowering your hands along your legs until you feel a stretch in your hamstrings.
  4. Keep the band taut and your spine neutral throughout.
  5. As you exhale, drive your hips forward and return to the upright starting position, squeezing your glutes at the top.

Questions

Which muscles work the most in a resistance band Romanian deadlift?

The primary movers are the hamstrings and gluteus maximus, with the spinal erectors and core muscles working isometrically for stability.

Is this exercise safe if you have lower back discomfort?

It places far less compressive load on the spine than free weights, but if you experience pain, stop immediately and consult a healthcare specialist.
