Band Middle Fly

The band middle fly is an isolation exercise designed to target the middle fibers of the pectoralis major under continuous tension. It fits well into home workouts, warm-ups, or as a finishing movement after heavy presses to fully fatigue the chest without excessive joint strain.

How to do it

  1. Anchor the band at chest height behind you and grab a handle in each hand.
  2. Step forward until the band is taut, arms extended out to the sides at shoulder height, palms facing forward.
  3. Stand in a staggered stance, core braced, with a slight bend in your elbows. Inhale.
  4. As you exhale, bring your arms together in a wide arc until the handles meet in front of your chest.
  5. Inhale and slowly open your arms back to the starting position, controlling the band's resistance.
